Interview with Queen of the Sun Director, Taggart Siegel

In the past few days I have had the priveledge of interviewing the director of the film “Queen of the Sun”, Taggart Siegel.  I met him in the afternoon, and by the time I met with him he was a bit tired from frequent travel advertising his film and from a day of interviewing, but our conversation was just as informative, thoughtful, and full of energetic care for his cause as Queen of the Sun was.

Queen of the Sun: Review, Showtimes and Trailer

I had heard several times of the problem of the bee colony collapse, that is, the sudden disappearance of bees, but I did not think very much of it.  Honey bees have always been an insect that I had an early fear of, but lost later after learning what to do not to get stung.  Spending time with honey bees reveals that they are, in the end, simple and rational creatures that can read basic bodily movements – do not threaten them, and you have no reason to feel threatened by them.  They have an occupation to do, and occupy no malice towards humanity unless it threatens to disturb this single-minded job.  That job, of course, is to pollinate plants which include enormous varieties of foods we take for granted, and then to create honey with the remnants.
