These are some great choices for overlooked horror films. There are a few others I would toss in as well (“Calvaire”, “Case Of The Bloody Iris”, “Kairo”), but that’s just personal tastes. A good list overall.

I agree with what you’ve written about Twixt. I had a blast! It was moody, atmospheric, and really funny-in an intentionally ridiculous way. It was a crowd pleaser and just perfect for the venue (and what can I say about the ingenious use of 3-D)

Glad to hear you liked my review, but more importantly, I’m glad you liked the movie. I still can’t believe that this was the director’s first feature. It looks like he has a good future ahead of him.

Not sure if you stayed for the Q&A but he mentioned that the family has fallen on harder times since the making of this movie and that the father is in danger of loosing his store. It seems like there needs to be a sequel.

Wow, and all this time I thought your Mom and Dad took you to Long Island, I should have realized it was the other way around!. This is a great site with great undiscovered writers. You all should be on, at the very least the radio, cable? Your reviews are honest, entertaining and insightful. Woe am I to live where going down the block to see some of these films is not possible. One can only hope cable will cough up some of these films. Truth be told thoough I will skip the Chainsaw movies. Keep the reviews coming…

Reading reviews of various film festivals is fantastic. The greatest ideas come from the unique minds behind these films. The independent beauty in the screenplays is what I enjoy during my travels, on business related to my job at Dish. I travel frequently so I decided to subscribe to Blockbuster @Home giving me access to the more rare films I enjoy. Soon the newer international winners will be available, and I can’t wait to live stream “Compliance” to my laptop. It will make for a perfect, relaxing evening, after a very hard days work, away from home.
