New to San Francisco Theatres Starting Friday, November 9th

Shanghai, 19th Century America, the Swiss Alps, the Scottish highlands, and the middle of nowhere.  What do all these locations have in common?  They’re all featured in new films opening this week in San Francisco theatres.  To see the full list of films, trailers, and where they’re playing, follow the jump.

Dangerous Liaisons (AMC Metreon)

In Shanghai, an aging socialite’s infatuation with her ex-boyfriend manifests itself as a risky game, where her former lover agrees to seduce, then abandon a naive young woman.

Lincoln (Century San Francisco)

As the Civil War continues to rage, America’s president struggles with continuing carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves.

Middle of Nowhere (UA Stonestown)

When her husband is sentenced to 8 years in prison, Rudy drops out of med school in order to focus on her husband’s well being while he’s incarcerated – leading her on a journey of self-discovery in the process.

Sister (Clay Theatre)

A drama set at a Swiss ski resort and centered on a boy who supports his sister by stealing from wealthy guests.

Skyfall (AMC Van Ness/Sundance Kabuki Cinemas/AMC Metreon/Vogue Theatre/Marina Theatre/CineArts @ Empire/4-Star Theatre)

Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

This Must Be the Place (Bridge Theatre)

Cheyenne, a retired rock star living off his royalties in Dublin, returns to New York City to find the man responsible for a humiliation suffered by his recently deceased father during WWII.
