Welcome to my 31 Days of Christmas movie marathon. This is a feature where I watch a different Christmas movie every day from now until Christmas. The rules are simple: The movie has to be something I haven’t already seen and I must watch at least one Christmas-themed movie a day from now until December 25th. They’ll be some bad ones and hopefully a lot of great ones. Why put myself through this? Because it’s a good way to catch up on a lot of Christmas movies and a good way to satisfy my OCD.
On the 17th day of Christmas my true love gave to me… Surviving Christmas
I chose to watch this movie for no other reason than to see Ben Affleck get hit with various tools by Tony Soprano. Turns out, even that would be disappointing.
Baffleck (yeah, that’s what I started calling him ever since his break up with J-Lo) plays a wealthy young man who has it all. All except a family, which is why he offers $250,000.00 to spend a few festive Christmas days with Mr. Soprano and fam, who are now the occupants of his childhood home and must pretend to play along with Baffleck’s vision of what his ideal family Christmas is supposed to be in order to get the money. From there hilarity is supposed to ensue, yet never does, lessons are supposed to be learned, yet aren’t, Baffleck is supposed to suffer numerous beatings, but never does, and most importantly, in some universe this was supposed to be a worthwhile movie, not just an alternative to browsing mindless youtube videos for 90 minutes. After seeing this I think I would have been happier with the youtube videos.
Here are a few youtube videos starring Baffleck. Enjoy.
